  • Satanicpornocultshop - Arkhaiomelisidonophunikheratos - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLP1lC0FnuI0KaKWATw_745JhAmpnffPAW HT to @XenoDangerEvil@dpw.social. If someone says something is weird, I'm going to be there, and this doesn't disappoint. 2010 LP from a Japanese experimental sampler/turntable/kitchen sink ensemble start with gentle acoustic folk and then, well, go off on a mad ride through J-Pop, indie covers (Feed Me With You Kiss played reasonably straight), Missy Elliot, Paddy McAloon, cutups, shredding guitar and more pensive acoustics, ending at Serge Gainsbourg. Another one for the list I think.
  • 30 Dawn Chorus - A Warning to the Curious - https://30doorkey.bandcamp.com/: Starts off in a somewhat uncertain direction, rather like a lot of hauntological electronica, but gradually, themes start to emerge and it reveals itself to be the soundtrack for a 60s British spy horror film scored by the BBC Radiophonic Workshop and Edwin Astley, and if that isn't a genre someone missed something.
  • CausaliDox - In Case I Don't See You - https://causalidox.bandcamp.com/album/in-case-i-dont-see-you: Intricate percussive, filmic electronics from a cinematic world where the sky is the colour of a dead television. It has a sort of 90s industrial feel without sounding like it. Probably those blokes in welding goggles again, but standing around in an abandoned factory.
  • Solventis - Alcyon - https://solventis.bandcamp.com/album/alcyon: Mostly French language neofolk framed with big guitars and bigger feelings. It drifts rather into 80s 4AD territory too, both the Bulgarian State Television Female Vocal Choir (oh, all right, Les Mystere des Voix Bulgares) and early Dead Can Dance. Quite enchanting.
